We’re happy to report that Smalltalks 2012, which was held on November 7-9 at the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco, Puerto Madryn (Argentina), was a big success, with close to 200 registrants.
At the last ESUG conference in Gent, Andreas Hiltner gave an “Lightning Talk” about the Cincom® ObjectStudio® new GUI project. The goal of this project is to create a new GUI library of Windows native widgets for ObjectStudio using DLLCC instead of writing them in C. In October, we looked at the Marquee Dialog. This time we would like to present the ProgressBarDialog.
Meeting clients’ needs and requirements is a top priority for the Cincom Smalltalk team. Therefore, in an effort to better meet the platform needs of our clients and to better focus our efforts on client requirements, the Cincom Smalltalk Team has created a survey to determine and understand which platforms clients are currently running Cincom Smalltalk on, and which platforms clients are planning to run on in the future.
The defrag tool was my inspiration to make something else useful—a progress Window in Smalltalk.
