Portland Smalltalk Users Group October Meeting
We're moving the venue for the next Portland Smalltalk Users Group meeting. The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 10th, 7pm, at GemStone Systems in Beaverton, 1260 NW Waterhouse Ave, Ste 200.
Getting to GemStone:
By Car: Driving Directions Park in the lot.
By MAX: GemStone isn't right on the MAX line, but it's not too far off. Take the Blue Line to the Merlo Road/SW 158th Ave station. Then take the Bus 67 up 158th Ave. to the stop by NW Greenbriar Pkwy. GemStone will be the red building to the NE right off 158th.
If you would rather have a ride from the MAX station to GemStone, send me an email (eric at thewingers.net) and we'll try to arrange a shuttle. We're planning on shuttling everyone back to the MAX station afterwards.
Entrance: Entrance is facing the NE away from 158th street. Come into the front lobby. We'll post a sign near the elevators with the phone number to call us. Then we'll come let you in.
We thought we'd try having it at GemStone even though its a little less convenient for the mass transit takers. Its got a couple advantages. It's quieter and we'll have a projector. Afterwards, we can hop down to a local public house for a beer and food if anyone would like.
Topic: Anything Smalltalk. If you'd like to demo something you're doing in Smalltalk (or just something interesting), bring it, and you can use the projector to enlighten us!

The front doors will most likely be locked by 7:00. However, they're glass so if you wait outside we'll be able to see you. We'll also post phone numbers to call where they can be read from outside the doors.
The 67 bus does not run very often. However, there is one with almost ideal timing -- it leaves the Max stop at 6:58PM and arrives at GemStone at about 7:05. We won't start until folks on this bus have a chance to get into the building.
