Winging it

The GemStone Smalltalk team recently released GemBuilder for Smalltalk (GBS) versions 5.2.5 and 7.0.2. Version 5.2.5 is for those who use VisualAge Smalltalk or VA Smalltalk. Version 7.0.2 is for those who use VisualWorks Smalltalk.

GBS 5.2.5 is the second release to be supported and tested with Instantiations' VA Smalltalk 7.0, and fixes several bugs present in earlier versions.

GBS 7.0.2 is the third release to support the latest GemStone/S 64-bit servers with 64-bit object IDs, and the first release to support VisualWorks 7.4.1. It also fixes a number of bugs present in earlier versions.

Details on supported configurations, enhancements, and fixed bugs are in the Release Notes for each version. Please take the time to read the release notes for each version between your current version and the latest version before installing the product to better understand what changes, if any, you will need to make in your applications.
