We wrapped up some good podcasts this morning - first, Michael and I talked to Phillippe Mougin, the guy behond F-Script. That was a fun talk, and it will be released this weekend. It got too late for Michael after that, so I talked to Niall Ross myself about this year's Smalltalk Solutions coding contest. I plan to release that one next weekend.

I plan to do a podcast at Smalltalk Solutions as well, but I'm not sure who will be on the panel. Interested in taking part? Let me know.

Technorati Tags:

I have to say, Dan Quick does an amazing job of editing. I mentioned that I was a guest on Polycast (a podcast about the Civilization PC game) last week, and it's online now. We rambled for a long while, and Dan edited it down to a nicely focused discussion. If you're a fan of Civ4, you should subscribe.

If you're thinking about attending Smalltalk Solutions in June, then the next few podcasts should be interesting. We spoke to Georg Heeg today - he's the founder of his eponymous company in Germany, and also the executive director of STIC. I should have the podcast out over the weekend - we covered a lot of ground about the conference.

Later this weekend I'll have episode 85 out - we did an overview of the new stuff in the latest Cincom Smalltalk release (there's a lot), and we also included a segment we did with Mark Grinnell on getting ObjectStudio 8 Vista Certified. It should be of general interest, with all the news about the goodies in the latest release - which, btw, you can download here.

We're trying something new with the podcast - organization :)

We have been doing ad-hoc talks that ramble a bit, and we think we can structure things a little. This week is our first take on that, with:

a Smalltalk/Seaside news segment

a general industry new segment

an interview segment

Dave's design minute

James' jobs report

The main difference you'll hear is that we are introducing each segment and trying to stay more on topic within those segments. We'll see how it goes; I expect to get the latest edition out this weekend.

I'm later with this post than I should have been, but at least I remembered before my trip. I'll be in Cincinnati at our annual "all hands" meeting - meaning, I'll be with the entire Smalltalk engineering group. That also means I have an opportunity to get podcasts on just about any topic of interest to the Smalltalk community (assuming I can convince the relevant engineer(s) to sit down and talk :) )

So - any suggestions? Leave a comment or email me.

Technorati Tags:

- Well, I for one, would like to hear whether multiple threads will be supported

- What is more, what about using Cairo or something like that as general graphics lib?

- When and how will the Widgetry improvements be imported into Wrapper?

Nagging questions, I know, but important to the end users, I think.

I'm not sure when I'll get that posted, but at some point in the next month or so, I'll have the video, and audio-only of that talk available as a podcast.
