The default VisualWorks notification system uses progress bar dialogs which are constantly raised to the front to a) show progress and b) prevent you from making changes during the operation. This temporal window may be annoying to some. And unfortunately, on some platforms (X11), this results in dialogs constantly throwing themselves in front of *any* window which is open, not just VisualWorks windows, thus rendering the desktop virtually innaccessable for other other work during the operation.

This package gets rid of the dialogs, and instead report the progress as a backdrop to the RepositoryMiniManager (in the launcher, since that's what all of those dialogs are for).
