This is used to achieve a performance improvement in GS collections by making it possible to use
simple blocks instead of complex blocks. The tuning code exchanges GS collection behavior with
more efficient code. The presentation named "Efficient GemStone Enumeration" (distributed with
the code) is the best way to learn about this code.
