I should have known better. I spent many, many, many (did I say many?) hours playing the original "Civilization" PC game, and I just grabbed Civ 3. It's every bit as addictive as the original.
Update: I think today's all day session confirms my addiction :)

I certainly count Civilization as one of the most appealing games out there. The next one Civilization 4 promises to be even better. One of the big new things is that it seems that most of the interface is scripted/scriptable with Python.
Personally I'm looking forward to having a REPL in Civilization ;-)

Civ 3? Civ 4 comes out in 10/24. I've already pre-ordered it from the local Gamestop. I know you haven't been PC gaming in a while but this is a bit of a surprise.

As testament to this I had to buy a laptop just so I could get any programming done on weekends.
