Revolution ready for production?

If this is correct, then the Revolution is ready for mass producte before the May launch (i.e., no shortages):

Thus, according to gamemag.ru, who is citing Inside Gamer, is seems that Nintendo Revolution’s configuration is complete and the device is ready for mass production. And since the release date for the Revolution is in May, that gives the Japanese manufacturers 5 months in order to manufacture enough consoles. Well, it’s hard to define "enough" in this case, as the success of Nintendo’s console is relatively uncertain, at this moment.

And the second console system will beat Sony to market. I suspect that they'll have to hit a grand slam to catch up.

"I suspect that they'll have to hit a grand slam to catch up."

Remember these words. What does "catch up" mean, anyway? Units? No problem there. See history.

The XBox 360 launch in Japan so far has been a yawner--it's horribly worse than the original launch (only 36% of units shipped have been sold). That's scary news considering the PS2 outsold the original Xbox 36-to-one in Japan. The Sony launch in Japan will be HUGE.

Kids under 12 and over 28 (the first gen users) like the Nintendo stuff. Most kids 12 and over won't even look at Nintendo--it's just not seen as cool. However, they have price point to their advantage.

Once the PS3 commercials start coming out, it's all you're going to see. Do you remember the media blitz for the PS2? There's some sample movies of PS3 titles out there that are amazing and have fanboys across all the message boards foaming at the mouth.

Remember that manufacturing and shipping hardware is only half the battle -- there have to be compelling launch titles to go with it.
