Gordon Mohr punctures some of the more starry eyed myths surrounding "Super Size Me":

I've got an idea for a film. It's like Super Size Me, except instead of eating all meals for a full month at McDonald's, I'll be eating all my meals at 5-star French restaurants.

I think the word here is "moderation".

The French have the lowest rate of heart disease in Europe. There must be something right about their diet.

Portion control

I've heard that the French are really big on portion control: eating a certain moderate amount at each meal, and that's it. You can see how that would a) encourage cooks to go for quality over quantity and b) lead to overall lower weights and all the health benefits thereof. Not that I personally think French cuisine is all it's cracked up to be.
