Hoaxed
Looks like "Fake Steve" has pulled a lot of legs (including, briefly, mine). I read the post that started this Techmeme swarm last night, and composed a "how dare they?" reponse. I posted that, then thought about it - and yanked the post. I think it stayed in my RSS feed, which is why you might have seen it today.
However, it looks like Scott Karp had more sense about it. Moral of this story: No outrage at 1 AM :)
