Where's the Market?
Maybe this explains why GM is having so much trouble - here's a concept "car" they want to pitch to urban audiences:

Here's what I don't get: why would I want that, instead of, say:
- A motorcycle
- A bike and a membership in one of those "get a car when you need one" clubs
This seems like a product that doesn't have a market to me...
