United Airlines gets FAA approval for wireless internet access during domestic flights, but the FCC still has to OK it. Some international carriers already provide the service -- for a fee of course.

Laptops on Airplanes

Good niche

Airplane seats might be a good niche for wearable computers: if you move the files you want on to a USB drive (or mirror your hard drive to it), you can plug that into a little wearable box, and use a heads-up display. Then you'd only need room for a keyboard, not room for a laptop to fold out enough to view the screen and type at the same time. Or, if you're willing to learn it, a FrogPad one-handed keyboard.
