The stupidity ends
Mike will mourn the death of Enterprise, but I say good riddance to bad writing. There's a reason it had low ratings - cardboard cutouts for characters, plotlines that made no sense - it's long past time that the "powers that be" at Paramount sent Berman and crew on a permanent vacation. If they have any dreams of a new Trek series, I'd suggest that they watch some good sci fi first - they could start with Battlestar Galactica. They could then have a look at SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. They might notice that these shows all have 3 dimensional characters. For that matter, they could have a look at the new Fox show House, which has real characters as well.

Yes, I'll mourn

Yeah, I'll miss Enterprise. The Xindi story wasn't as bad as most people made it, and this season has been pretty strong. I especially like the ties this season made to the original series. As for your comment on "cardboard cutouts of characters", I don't see that at all. I think the characters have been pretty flushed out, in particular Archer, Malcolm, and Trip. What killed Enterprise is the Friday night time slot. Everyone knew this was going to be the last season.
The primary reason I'm not watching SG-1 or SG-Atlantis is that I haven't watched the past, what is it, seven years. I have no idea what's going on. And for Galatica, the original had its moments but it wasn't really worth resurrecting. As for House, that has its stupid points too. A coworker yells "There's lab technicians for that." each time one of the interns does lab work. And the Bryan Singer/X-Men effect of zooming into the patients nostils and warping to their bloodstream has to go. It is way too geeky for a medical show. Given this though, I like the series. Hugh Laurie has come a long way from the Blackadder days. If you want to watch something great, turn off the cable box and rent/buy a copy of the Chobits series. Get over any preconceived notions of what anime is, and you'll find this a great series. Good stories, nice twists and the humor survived the translation. It's just a real enjoyable experience to watch this series.
