Soft spot for bad flicks
I have a soft spot for bad flicks. I actually sat through all of "10.5" - which was really, really bad. Back in the 80's, I went to a bunch of bad movies - I think this and this were perhaps the worst two things I ever spent money on. But maybe not - I'm planning on seeing "The Day After Tomorrow" - based on the trailers, it seems to be based on the book "The Coming Global Super Storm". I picked that up in an airport somewhere, when I had plenty of time to kill (and boy, does that book kill time :) ). Then again, I have some hopes for the special effects to be cool. I guess my taste in TV isn't any better - I continue to donate hours of my life to "Enterprise" and "24", no matter how bad they get....

The Core of Bad Movies

I also enjoy "bad" movies.
The Core is an awesome bad science fiction flick. I picked up the dvd used and have watched it a couple of times now. Each time it gets better and better no matter how corny it is! Oh it's fun seeing parts of Vancouver where it was filmed.
Millenium is another one of these disaster flicks that's really bad but is still worth watching from time to time. Oh, speaking of time, it's got time travel too! ;--)
Enterprise had a good time travel side theme going on in the first few seasons, but now it's gotten strange with the whole Xindi and Extra Dimensional beings thingi. Speaking of the Xindi, if they were part of the Federation how come we've never heard of them before in any of the other series? The problems with writing prequells.
I can only hope that Star Wars episode III is good. I have a new hope for it, oh that's the title of episode IV. ;--)
The Day After Tomorrow looks like it could be a great disaster film. Being a Canadian I have the advantage of Iglue living experience. Bring on the ice age! ;--)

I'm afraid you're suffering from an overinflated sense of optimism :)
