How does VAR Pricing work

Many people ask questions about the VAR pricing model for Cincom Smalltalk. There are two different levels to it - small VAR (fixed percentage) and larger VAR (where the percentage of revenue is negotiable).

The fixed percentage model works for smaller shops whose revenues (revenues based on Cincom Smalltalk) are less than $1M USD. If your revenues grow above that, you should contact your sales representative.

With the small VAR model, you pre-pay a small fee (on a per developer basis) which acts as a pre-payment on your annual royalty. If you have not started selling your application yet, you may still want to pay this small fee in order to receive full support from the Cincom Smalltalk team - which includes all new product releases as they come out, telephone/email based support, and ongoing maintenance.
